CHALLENGE REGISTRATION FORM

 

“Starstruck”

 

We are having a star studded event to celebrate our 25th Annual Quilt Gala!  Not surprising, stars appear in more American quilts than any other design.  There are favorites like the Variable Star, Lemoyne Star, Sawtooth Star, Feathered Star or the Friendship Star, just to name a few.  Your wallhanging may have a heavenly host of stars if you wish, but it must include at least one recognizable eight-pointed star.  Be creative!   Use any color palette or technique you like, make it traditional or contemporary.  It's up to you! Remember Casey Kasem's signature sign-off. . ."Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."  It applies to quilting too!

 

• Registration Form:  Must be received no later than 5:00 P. M. Thursday, January 24, 2019.  Make a copy for your records.  

• Complete the form (below) and submit it online or download a hard copy and

• Mail or Deliver Form to:  Horry County Museum, Attn: Gala Registration, 805 Main St., Conway, SC 29526

 

Requirements:

1.  Limited to 1 entry per person.  Make a copy of form for your records.

2.  Must have one fully recognizable eight-pointed star in the wallhanging.

3.  Size: TOTAL PERIMETER NOT TO EXCEED 120” (Perimeter is width plus length times 2).  If your entry is round, the circumference must not exceed 120". 

4.  Use any technique or combination of techniques.

5.  Embellishments are optional.

6.  Entry must be free of any smoke, odor or pet hair.

7.  Pin or sew a fabric label on the back of the quilt and include owner’s name, address and tel. number.

 

Entry Drop-Off:    Thurs., Feb. 21st – 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Entry Pickup:       Sat. Feb. 23rd – after 4:45 p.m.

 Gift certificates awarded for:  1st place - $100, 2nd place - $75 and 3rd place - $50
